Different rooms. Same work.
I grew up in the arts. I studied theatre which, more than anything, is a training in how people communicate who they are, and what happens when that communication breaks down. After college, I spent several years in clinical HIV research in New York City and learned a different kind of rigor: how to hold complexity carefully, how to stay grounded in evidence, and how to work alongside challenged communities.
Then came hospitality which sparked a deep education in what it means to build teams, shape culture, and support organizations that perform under real pressure. Those three rooms look different on paper. But the through line is bright: in every one of them, I was doing the same work. I found light in supporting people and organizations to find comfort in who they are, figure out what they need, and clear up the needed setting to get there.
